Non-Oil Exports from Chabahar Port Double
non-oil exports from the strategic Chabahar port in south-eastern Iran has grown by 100% in the first quarter of the current Iranian year compared to the same period last year

Three-month records of non-oil exports from Iran's southeastern port city of Chabahar show a 100 percent year-on-year increase in a 90-day period between March 21 and June 21, 2019, which shows the country's success in adopting economic policies capable of countering U.S.' unilateral sanctions.

The Director General of Sistan and Baluchestan Ports and Maritime Organization Behrouz Aghaee said on Sunday, "Loading and unloading of goods increased considerably after the inauguration of first phase of Shahid Rajaei Port of Chabahar. The loading and unloading operations of various types of oil and nonoil products in Chabahar Port registered a 37 percent growth since the beginning of this year as compared to the same period last year.

He further noted that loading and unloading operation of oil products in this period increased by 69 percent while the export of non-oil products showed a considerable 100 percent hike as compared to the last year, corresponding period.

The director general of provincial Ports and Maritime Organization added that the number of inbound vessels, above 100,000 tons, has experienced a 29 percent hike in the first three months of the current year as compared to the same period of last year. The number of vessels above 1,000 tones has increased by 29% as well, added Aghaee.
