PMO News Portal - while visiting the province of Mazandaran and
the capacities and capabilities of Amirabad Port, Representative of the
Republic of Dagestan in Iran stated that so far, bilateral economic relations
between the two regions of Dagestan and Mazandaran have been negligible, but with
utilizing the capacities of the Makhachkala and Amir Abad ports, economic
growth could take place in the region.
He added: Increasing transit volume and sea traffic due to
this capacity between the two ports can be very good in commercial relations,
as compared to other countries near the Caspian Sea. The port of Amirabad is a
unique port on the Caspian Sea which has a nominal capacity of 7.5 million tons
of goods, a RORO wharf and high sea and logistics capacity which have added to
its economic attractiveness.
