Hormoz's multipurpose port dredging project was placed on the agenda of the General Directorate of Ports and Maritime Affairs of Hormozgan province.
PMO News Portal - AllahMohamad Afifipour stated that due to
the increasing traffic of passengers and marine tourists along the route of Shahid
haqqani port to the island of Hormuz and the problems with large vessels, due
to insufficient depth of the access channel of the port, the port’s dredging
project was placed on The agenda of the General Directorate of Ports and
Maritime Affairs of Hormozgan Province.
He continued: The project consists of two main phases of the
dredging the access channel with a volume of 172,000 cubic meters and the
construction of a protective wall and a coastal wall of about 1,000 meters in
Afifipour also elaborated that the coast around the harbor
located on the western side of the city has been damaged and eroded in many
parts, which in turn results in the return of construction materials to the sea
and the escalation of sedimentation in the entrance and canal areas.
Due to the problems of providing foreign samples and in
order to boost domestic production, many samples were produced by several
domestic manufacturers under the supervision of experts from the civil
engineering department of port and maritime organization of Hormozgan.
